Two-part verbs

     PLAY DOWN - to make something seem less important.
Teacher played down my excuse of missing in class so I took very low score.
Some people play down them activity and they don't understand why they are a losers.
      PUT UP WITH -  to make peace with somebody.
They are going to put up with them.
I think you have to put up with him.

  1. This looks good, but the second example sentence for "play down" does not make sense (I don't understand the meaning).
    -->some students play down their activity in class.....(doesn't make sense)
